Melbourne’s lush Albert Park is home to interesting examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, and it is also indelibly associated with Australian sport. On most days, you can find sailboats skimming across the water of the lake, golfers tackling the local course and keep-fit enthusiasts jogging beneath the trees.
The park’s racing circuit has hosted the Formula One Grand Prix since 1996. The Lakeside Stadium is home to South Melbourne FC, Australia’s most successful football team, and was redeveloped in 2010 to include the Victorian Institute for Sport. We are proud to partner with South Melbourne FC as a sponsor.
At the northwest corner of the lake, you can visit the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, which hosted the swimming and squash events at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
